If I knew you better, I might hug you and tell you how lucky she was to have only ever known you. The only warmth she ever knew was your perfect warmth. The only sound she ever knew was the sound of your heart. The only feeling she ever knew was the feeling of being completely wrapped in her mother's safe embrace.
She never knew cold, she never knew dissonance, she never knew solitude.
But I don't know you better, so all I say is that I'm so sorry for your loss.

Ah. I'm in tears. Perfectly said. And I would say it if I were you.
I've felt unsettled all day thinking about their family, but am not eloquent enough to express the sadness I feel. You explained it beautifully.
